The Instructions in the Invisible: Reclaiming your Intuitive Authority in Uncertain Times
About
Mellissae Lucia is a visionary artist, oracle creator, and initiatory guide devoted to helping people return to their own intuitive authority.
Born in the moss and mist of the Pacific Northwest, Mellissae was raised in her German grandparents’ Old World Grimm’s fairytale cottage, where spirit felt palpable, and the old ways quietly hummed beneath the floorboards. That early landscape of wonder and wound became her first initiation and ignited a lifelong devotion to what she calls “the instructions in the invisible” — the inner guidance that steadies us when the outer world feels fractured.
A rebel turned ritualist, her early punk and hip-hop years forged her devotion to voice, authenticity, and creative sovereignty. Experimental photography and sacred self-portraiture became her living laboratory for exploring identity and the edges of reality. After the death of her husband from cancer, she entered a seven-year initiatory passage through the deserts and underground graffiti tunnels of New Mexico, creating more than 70,000 Earthenbody ritual self-portraits. This profound body of work became the award-winning Oracle of Initiation, rooted in shadow reclamation, resilience, and radiant self-trust.
Her visionary photography inhabits liminal terrain where reality softens into myth. Drawn to threshold zones and overlooked landscapes, she reveals places where ancestral memory hums beneath the visible world. Her work is not illusion but revelation — a reminder that the extraordinary waits quietly within the ordinary.
Today, Mellissae guides fellow mystics through land-based ritual, Nordic animism, rune wisdom, and embodied creative practice. Through her Útiseta Land Listening Quests, the Echoes of the Ancients: Nörse Rune Kit, and her yearlong immersion The Rune Wisdom Wheel: A Year’s Walk with the Ancient Völvas, she teaches grounded mysticism and self-authority rooted in an intimate relationship with land, lineage, and soul.
Her work bridges art, initiation, and devotion — affirming that the unseen is real, sacred timing is trustworthy, and our becoming and belonging require no external permission.
